What is the SUP Valve Spanner For?

What is the SUP Valve Spanner For?
A plastic SUP valve spanner is supplied with our Mistral inflatable paddleboards. It’s possible the internal SUP valve can work loose, and from time to time, it's worth checking the SUP valve to make sure it is tight and secure. If your paddleboard seems to be losing air and you see no damage to the outer PVC layer or leaks from seams, the leak may be coming from the upper section of the SUP valve where it screws into the board, which can be checked with soapy water or sometimes by simply listening.
How Do I Use the SUP Valve Spanner?
With your paddleboard inflated, unscrew the SUP valve cap and insert the valve spanner head into the SUP valve, aligning the teeth with the internal grooves.
Slowly tighten clockwise until the /SUP valve offers firm resistance to your turning action. This will usually resolve an air leak from the upper valve seal.
How do I Remove and Replace the SUP Valve?
If you need to unscrew the SUP valve, you can turn it in an anticlockwise direction until it can be unscrewed by hand.
You will notice the tiny drop-stitch strands inside the board. When replacing the SUP valve, ensure the internal nylon strands do not foul the valve threads.
Tighten the valve using the SUP valve spanner clockwise until it is firm, and replace the valve cap.
